Detailed material
The internship setting
I interned with Water Farmers / Madhavi Farms in Bengaluru from May to July 2018. The work brought me into the daily routines connecting farm inputs, fish systems, crops, harvesting, packing and supply.
Procedures and practical learning
I established procedures across inputs, farm management, harvesting, packing and supply, working closely with farm leadership.
The internship also gave me practical exposure to integrated pest management, biofiltration and crop diversification. These were areas of learning, distinct from a claim that I designed the farm’s underlying systems.
Daily field coordination
My daily work included coordination with 35 women field workers under farm leadership. The responsibility sat within an internship, not a later full-time line-management role.
The account describes procedures and daily coordination across the growing, harvest and supply routines. It does not document a specific failed handoff or a measured before-and-after change.
Internship context
The internship account describes a 1.5-acre farm and daily coordination with 35 women field workers. My contribution was operating procedures and coordination; acreage and workforce are context rather than attributable performance.
This account refers to May–July 2018. Later farm-capacity descriptions are not used to enlarge the internship’s scope.
Before UrbanKhet
This was an early experience of the routines connecting a farm with harvest, packing and supply. It preceded founding UrbanKhet; the later venture has its own operating account.
Notes and sources
- This account refers to the May–July 2018 internship. The 1.5-acre and 35-field-worker figures describe that period; later farm-capacity accounts concern a different scope. Coordination under farm leadership is not line-management authority or a measured production improvement.
