Water Farmers aquaponics
Operating procedures and daily coordination under farm leadership.
My role Intern: operating procedures and field coordination.
The experience
I interned with Water Farmers / Madhavi Farms in Bengaluru from May to July 2018. The work brought me into the daily routines connecting farm inputs, fish systems, crops, harvesting, packing and supply.
Procedures and daily coordination
Working closely with farm leadership, I established procedures across inputs, farm management, harvesting, packing and supply. My daily work included coordination with 35 women field workers. The setting was a reported 1.5-acre farm; these figures describe the internship’s context.
I also gained practical exposure to integrated pest management, biofiltration and crop diversification. That learning is distinct from the procedure and coordination contribution. The account does not attribute a production increase or a farm-system design to my internship.
The next chapter in this part of my career was founding UrbanKhet, where I became responsible for a product and its operating business. That later responsibility is documented separately, rather than projected back onto this internship.
Internship context
The internship account describes a 1.5-acre farm and daily coordination with 35 women field workers. My contribution was operating procedures and coordination; acreage and workforce are context rather than attributable performance.
This account refers to May–July 2018. Later farm-capacity descriptions are not used to enlarge the internship’s scope.
